Child abuse charges lodged in Scott County after infant’s death
A baby from Scott County, Virginia was brought to Niswonger’s in Johnson City after losing consciousness and was determined to have critical injuries.
The 7 week old’s mother Hannah Danielle Davidson, 19, and Michael Finley, 24, were arrested after the child died three days later and authorities completed an initial investigation.
The report from Sheriff Jeff Edds’ office said several first responders including an investigator who continued CPR on the child and then drove the ambulance to a Kingsport facility while the paramedics continued to care for the infant.
They are charged with child abuse and neglect and the Sheriff’s Office said additional violations are possible as the case progresses.
