Police: Johnson City mother admits to killing her two children in notes left at murder scene

A Johnson City mother is now under 24 hour surveillance at an area medical facility and she is charged with the deaths of two toddlers earlier this week.

A city police report said warrants were secured for 28-year-old Jessica Chandler who was found at her Omaha Lane residence early Tuesday with self-inflicted, superficial cuts on her arms and legs. That is where investigators discovered her dead children–a 1 year old girl and 4 year old boy.

Police said Chandler left three handwritten notes directly implicating herself as the killer of the two toddlers. After coming at policemen and EMS workers with a knife, Chandler was taken into custody then transported to a hospital.

She will be formally charged and taken to jail when she is medically released. Autopsy and toxicology reports have been ordered.
