Man arrested after standoff in Russell County

The Russell County Sheriff’s office reports that a man was taken into custody after a standoff in Castlewood Thursday afternoon. After a roughly hour-and-a-half-long standoff off on Jack Grizzle Lane, the suspect surrendered. According to Sheriff Bill Watson, the standoff started after 42 year old James Edward Keen was served warrants for probation violations and refused to leave the home. Watson said there was no threat to the public. Keen surrendered and taken into custody, then transported to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
