Dobbins-Bennett reopens newly renovated Buck Van Huss Dome

The Buck Van Huss Dome has officially reopened at Dobyns-Bennett. After closing in August of 2022, the dome officially reopened Tuesday evening after a two-and-a-half-year renovation. Kingsport City Schools officials said they wanted to keep the nostalgia of the old dome while providing the necessary safety and longevity requirements. The most visible change is the new scoreboard over the center court. There are also numerous upgrades to the overall fan experience including A new HVAC system, new LED lighting within the existing diamond ceiling and new seating in both the upper and lower areas of the facility.
