Jury seated, Megan Boswell murder trial begins in Sullivan County

The first day of Megan Boswell’s murder trial is underway in Sullivan County. Boswell is facing 20 charges in the death of her 15-month-old daughter Evelyn, who was the subject of a February 2020 AMBER Alert and was later found dead on a family member’s property in March 2020. Boswell’s charges include two counts of felony murder and one count of first-degree murder. The jury in Boswell’s trial was seated on Tuesday with a total of 14 people. Eight men and six women were chosen as jurors. The jury will also be asked to decide Boswell’s punishment if she is found guilty of murder. Prosecutors are seeking the punishment of life in prison without parole for Boswell if she is convicted.
