JC Walnut Street project nears completion

Johnson City officials say the Walnut Street revitalization project is just months from being completed. The initial discussions about the project began nearly 10 years ago. The final touches include power, cable and phone lines on one side of one more block of the street, then the remaining sidewalk and landscaping along with the final coat of pavement. The project is expected to be finished by the end of June. Another project close to Walnut street is scheduled to begin with the project completion. Designs are in the works for a water feature nearly to reduce flooding in the area.
