Former Baileyton Police Chief appeals demotion

Former Baileyton Police Chief Joshua Ferguson will remain in the police department after being demoted. Ferguson received a letter from the mayor last month that the Baileyton Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to demote him from police chief based on certain allegations including insubordination and “multiple complaints” from the public. Ferguson appealed the demotion Tuesday night and challenged the allegations, but no alderman made a motion to vote on overturning the decision.
