Brief power outage scheduled Tuesday for parts of Bristol, VA

A brief power outage has been planned for part of Bristol, Virginia on Tuesday afternoon. BVU Authority announced on social media that a planned outage will take place Tuesday between 1-2 p.m. The outage will affect Flame Leaf Drive, Old Dominion Road and the Lowry Hills subdivision. The outage is scheduled so crews can de-energize an overhead span that crosses Interstate 81 so the Virginia Department of Transportation can place sound barriers on the north shoulder of the interstate.
