Johnson City man acquitted of child sex charges

A Johnson City man who pleaded not guilty to multiple child sex charges in May 2022 was acquitted on Thursday in Carter County. Court records say a jury found 33 year old Benjamin Alexander Scott not guilty of rape, rape of a child, and other charges. The document showed that a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child was dismissed. The acquittal came on the third day of trial.
