Kingsport man arrested after child pornography investigation

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Kingsport man Wednesday after a child pornography investigation. The Sheriff’s Office says authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding images of suspected child sexual abuse material that were uploaded online. Investigators reviewed the evidence and determined that 49 files contained graphic and illegal content involving minors. Information from the tip and obtained from an internet service then led investigators to 42 year old Brandon Scott Overbay of Kingsport. A search warrant was executed at Overbay’s Thomas Acres Road home on Wednesday with Overbay being arrested and charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. Overbay was released on Thursday after posting a $20,000 bond.
