Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office arrests murder suspect in Wednesday shooting

The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect who is charged in connection with a homicide after a man was found dead inside a home on Wednesday. A reported shooting at a home on Rocky Hill Lane in Church Hill around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, led deputies to find a deceased male, identified as 22 year old, Shamond Harris, inside the home. 31 year old, Daquion Carter was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. During the investigation, authorities located a firearm in a wooded area that is believed to be the murder weapon. No additional suspects are being sought at this time. Carter is currently being held at the Hawkins County Jail.
