Juvenile gets 10 years for attempted murder of gas station clerk

A 17-year-old has been tried as an adult and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the attempted murder of a gas station clerk in Chilhowie. Jose Rodriguez pled guilty to the attack. The victim gave a statement in court and said that the attack, quote, “wrecked his life”. Rodriguez will remain in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice for the next two years, it will then be determined if he will be transferred to the Department of Corrections.
