Knoxville man arrested after evading police

A man from Knoxville has been arrested in Johnson City after reportedly running from police. 37 year old, Dwayne Smith, of Knoxville, was seen trespassing near the Keystone Development on South Broadway Street. Officers told Smith to stop several times before he allegedly fled the area. Officers located a backpack Smith was carrying behind a residence in the 1100 block of East Main Street, and found Smith hiding inside. Smith was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and faces several drug charges, on top of Criminal trespassing and Evading arrest.
