Jonesborough FD to hire 7 firefighters

The Jonesborough Fire Department is looking to hire seven additional firefighters. This is to ensure prompt emergency response across 50 square miles of Washington County. The county will help Jonesborough fund at least seven firefighters to assist with emergency response in and around Washington County, along with the volunteer fire departments. The funding initiative follows a warning from the Insurance Services Office, which influences insurance rates. The ISO recently highlighted concerns about the territory being under staffed.
