Virginia Highlands Festival begins it’s 76th year in Abingdon

The Virginia Highlands Festival gets underway Friday in Abingdon. The festival begins at 10 a.m. and continues through Sunday, August 3rd. The Festival features live music, arts and crafts shows, food vendors, a film festival and plenty of outdoor activities. The festival celebrates the culture of the area and showcases the arts and talents of Southwest Virginia. The festival is celebrating it’s 76th year, with the first festival beginning in 1949.
