Man arrested for murder in Johnson County

After allegedly shooting and killing a man in the Butler community on Saturday, a Mountain City man faces a first-degree murder charge. 68 year old, Freddie Ray Skeens, has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Bob Stanley. On August 9th, the sheriff’s office found Stanley dead at his home from a gunshot wound. Skeens was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of tampering with evidence. Skeens is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $1 million bond. He’s set to appear in court Wednesday.
