Eastern Kentucky mom admits to serving lethal dose of sleeping meds to 10-year-old

The body of a missing 10-year-old from Eastern Kentucky was found in a shallow grave and his mother is now in police custody.
Felicia Gross is charged with manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and false reporting after the body of Jayden Spicer was recovered in Breathitt County on Tuesday. The child had been reported missing since August 5th after he was last seen on Panbowl Branch Road in Jackson.
An affidavit said Gross told investigators that she had given Jayden a type of sleeping medication that reportedly caused a fatal medical emergency. After his death, Gross told police that she placed the body in a plastic tote then buried Jayden in a grave off Canoe Road. She had also coached Jayden’s siblings on what to say to officers prior to her confession.
