Southwest Airlines chooses Knoxville’s Tyson McGhee for new flights

Southwest Airlines has added Knoxville’s Tyson McGhee Airport onto their route map and will begin their service in March.

A Southwest statement said twice-daily service to Nashville will be introduced along with daily roundtrip flights to Baltimore, Dallas and Orlando.

Metro Knoxville Airport Authority Chair Howard Vogel said they dedicated years of work pursuing Southwest and their arrival gives East Tennessee another national gateway while the region can welcome new visitors from those cities that will help grow the tourist economy.
