Local, TBI officers take $50,000 of fentanyl off Bristol streets

A Chattanooga man came to Bristol, Virginia with supplies of fentanyl pills and powder that has a street value between $40,000 and $50,000, according to city police.
Several local departments and agents with the FBI worked together to track down 20-year-old Jermaine Clayton, who is charged with possession of schedule II drugs with intent to distribute.
Bristol police said Clayton’s collection included 2,000 fentanyl pills and more charges are pending.
The street value of these narcotics represents more than just money; it represents thousands of potential doses that could have caused harm or taken lives. This operation has undoubtedly saved lives in our community,” stated Bristol Virginia Chief of Police Byron Ashbrook.
