TBI investigating former West Greene High teacher for stolen funds

The TBI is investigating allegations that a now-former West Greene High School teacher stole funds. The investigation is focused on a former Greene County Schools employee who had allegedly stolen money from the Tennessee Association of Agricultural Educators. Interim Director of Greene County Schools Christopher Malone confirmed the employee was an agriculture teacher at West Greene High School, but did not provide any further identification. Malone said the former teacher resigned on Aug. 13 shortly after being placed on leave and said to his knowledge, no school funds were embezzled.
