Washington County mother jailed for child endangerment

A small child making a midnight visit to a home to ask for directions led to the arrest of the juvenile’s mother.
April Garland, 39, was arrested for child endangerment, violation of the open container law and possession of a gun while intoxicated, according to a report from Sheriff Keith Sexton.
Deputies arrived at New Salem Drive in Telford and found the child inside a parked vehicle with Garland lying in the front seat. That’s when officers spotted the weapon and two cans of beer inside.
The child was released to the custody of a family member.
