Sheriff says no parental oversight led to TikTok investigation involving North Greene student

Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt said no parental oversight led to an investigation Sunday night after the principal at North Greene High School was contacted about a potential threat video made by a student and posted to TikTok.

Homeland Security and local law enforcement found and talked with the juvenile who said he made the clip as part of a TikTok challenge.

The statement said there was not a direct threat of violence in the message. Holt said the investigation is still active and ongoing and urged area parents to keep a close eye on their child’s online activity.
