Jonesborough passes moratorium on data processing centers

The Jonesborough Board of Aldermen passed a two-year moratorium on bitcoin mines and data processing centers in the town limits. The town joins other localities, including Bristol and Johnson City, that have implemented moratoriums to allow for time to study their impacts and determine the best way to regulate them. An attempt to implement a moratorium in Johnson County failed last month.
