Two 5k races coming up for Thanksgiving

The YWCA of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia’s Turkey Trot 5K is coming up November 22 in Bristol, Tennessee. Participants have the option to run or walk beginning near the Bristol sign and ending at the YWCA. This is a major fund raising event for the YWCA, and CEO Brittany Sullivan says each year the race provides critical funds for the YWCA programs. And another popular 5k run will take to the streets of Johnson City on Thanksgiving morning next week. Over 4,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the annual “Up & At ‘Em Turkey Trot” beginning at 8:30 next Thursday morning.
