Firefighters extinguish Thanksgiving blaze in Bristol

Bristol Virginia Fire Chief Mike Armstrong said minimal damage occurred at a house fire located at 396 Texas Avenue on Thanksgiving night.

The preliminary cause of the blaze was a candle left in a bathroom near combustible materials and ruled accidental, according to the chief’s report. The people living in the home had already evacuated the house when crews arrived.

Armstrong said the use of thermal cameras on the house’s wall confirmed no spread of fire from the source.
