JTEKT announcing 2026 closure of Telford plant

Unwelcome financial news before the holidays as an area manufacturing plant will be permanently closing in 2026.

JTEKT North America has sent a WARN notice announcing 136 workers losing their jobs at its Telford plant in Washington County, Tennessee beginning at the end of April next year then concluding the shutdown in August.

A change in automotive design with conventional engines being used less in the process was one of the factors in closing the plant, according to the company, along with a decline in the use of their parts.
