Bristol TN proposes roadway changes near Slater Community Center

The City of Bristol, Tennessee has proposed multiple changes to the roadway on McDowell Street just outside of the Slater Community Center. Changes would include blocking the East State Street entrance and putting in a cul-de-sac. Officials say this will alleviate traffic on McDowell street which is used frequently as a cut through route. Another change is the widening of sidewalks and adding more parking to the Slater Community Center. The project could also bring some changes to other nearby roadways. The sidewalk and McDowell Street paving was already built into the city budget and work on the sidewalks will start in the coming weeks and is expected to be finished by July 1.
