Johnson City leaders meet to discuss Freedom Hall Pool
The Johnson City Commission and Board of Education met Thursday to discuss the Freedom Hall pool. The boards discussed several options, one is to repair the pool at a cost of around $747,000 if not more. Another option could be to utilize the Memorial Park Community Center pool. But without a competitive pool, city leaders looked at both short-term and long-term options. The closing of the pool will leave the Science Hill High School swim team without a permanent home. After the 2 hour meeting concluded, no official decisions were made. The pool will close on Friday due to the need for major repairs.
