Rogersville man facing federal charges for Florida getaway with Ohio teenager
A Rogersville man faces federal charges for transporting a minor for criminal sexual activity after a missing Ohio teen was found with him in Florida.
A ping on a smartphone used by Stephen Negron, 42, along with security footage of Negron’s truck was used to link him to the disappearance. Following a March 12 search of his Tennessee home, FBI agents tracked a new cell phone to a Florida hotel, where the girl was recovered the following day.
Negron is also accused of kidnapping, drugging, and assaulting a Texas teen in 2023. He will be extradited to Ohio to face these charges.
A report from WXIX in Ohio says the 16-year-old female told police that she met Negron on the social media app Tumblr where his user name was “Dad Bod.” The girl told Negron her age but according to investigators, he told her he was willing to give her a better life with necessities and clothes while taking the risk.
Stephen Negron was arrested by the #FBI last month after being found with a missing Colerain teen in Florida. He has now been indicted for transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. We extend our sincere gratitude to Colerain Police, Ohio BCI,… pic.twitter.com/k3ek5s23rO
