SCSO investigating drowning at South Holston Lake

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating a drowning at South Holston Lake that happened Thursday at a pull-off on Highway 421 near Shady Fork Road. Police said they received a call around 7:30 p.m. that said a swimmer had gone under and not resurfaced. Multiple agencies responded and began the search and found the swimmers body. No identity has been released and the drowning is under investigation.
