Wise County School Board approves 2027 budget

The Wise County School Board approved their 2027 budget at Monday’s meeting. Officials say the budget is very similar to last year’s with the main changes being guided by the state general assembly. Those changes include $1,500 bonuses through what’s called the Caboose Bill. The budget was approved but is still subject to change depending on any state or county adjustments. Officials say they have covered all the necessary needs with the most important thing being what is need in the classrooms.
