Head-on crash in Church Hill ends murder suspect’s run from police

A head-on crash with a stolen truck driven by a murder suspect and a police officer’s SUV in Church Hill ended Kingsport’s pursuit of 37-year-old Levi Carter.

A city report said the agency’s search for Carter began late Monday when a homicide investigation was started. Carter is currently charged with second degree murder. As of press time, details of the homicide were not available.

Other charges related to the chase will likely be added to Carter’s current list.
