Salvation Army in Bristol TN getting ready for major transformation
The Salvation Army in Bristol, Tennessee, is preparing for a major transformation. The Lazarus Project is a $600,000 effort to renovate the building, improving the space, all while helping to meet a growing need. According to The Salvation Army’s 2025 Impact Report, the shelter has served more than 4,000 people and provided more than 8,000 overnight stays, and after 35 years the building is ready for repairs. Renovations include the men’s and women’s dormitories, bathrooms for ADA compliance, the laundry room, TV/community room, hallways and the roof. An anonymous donor committed to matching donations raised, up to $600,000. Leaders hope to raise the full amount by November, with renovations expected to begin early next year.
