Active pipe bomb found inside vehicle in Sevierville off Smoky Mountains Parkway

Two people are charged after an active pipe bomb was found inside their vehicle located almost two miles off the busy Smoky Mountains Parkway in Sevierville.

Mark Stell, 38, and Rosa Lockard, 40, face multiple charges including weapon and drug violations after they were found passed out on Old Knoxville Highway inside their vehicle that contained the explosive and an AR-15 style rifle.

A county report said that portion of the road was closed and local businesses were evacuated while the bomb was secured then disabled.
