I-81 weekend crash sends woman to hospital with serious injuries

The THP reports that Sunday at around 12:30 p.m., a crash was reported on Interstate 81. A Nissan was traveling southbound when it crossed the median and struck a semi-truck head-on near mile marker 43. The semi-truck then hit a highway sign on the side of the road. A 45-year-old woman was flown from the scene to a local trauma center for possible serious injuries and charges are pending once the investigation is complete.
