Drug charges for man arrested after being “slumped over” at traffic light

Sullivan County deputies were flagged down Saturday around midnight at the intersection of East Stone Drive and North John B. Dennis Highway where a reported driver was slumped over the steering wheel at a traffic light. Deputies tried to speak with the driver and got no response but did see a gun in plain view between his legs. After removing the man from the vehicle to check on him, deputies said they found drugs, paraphernalia, and nearly $7,800 in cash. The driver was identified as Dakota Johnson. Johnson was charged with multiple drug and weapons charges. Johnson is being held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is due in court on August 13.
