Sheriff’s Office identifies victim at Twisting Falls site
The victim recovered at a popular waterfall spot in Carter County has been identified.
On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office released a report that said the man who died was Lucas Seth Anderson, 35, of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Investigators were told by those in Anderson’s group that the man chose to dive from the top of Twisting Falls, but Anderson failed to surface after the jump, instead he was caught in the undertow of the falls. Another member of Anderson’s hiking group dove in and pulled the victim out of the water but attempts at reviving the man with CPR were unsuccessful.
