State Police obtain additional charges against Exit 7 motel shooting suspect

The shooting suspect arrested after a standoff at a Bristol, Virginia motel now has 19 charges placed against him.

According to a State Police report, the updated felony count for Antonio Megginson, 47, includes two counts of aggravated murder, eight counts of use of a firearm during a felony, one count of weapon possession by a convicted felon, five counts of attempted aggravated murder of a law enforcement officer, one count of shooting in public causing injury, and two counts of brandishing a firearm.

One victim was found in Megginson’s room and the other in the motel’s parking lot. They were identified as Brenda Tackett and Andrea Mallory.

The report said the incident is being investigated as a domestic-related disturbance.
