Warrants secured for attempted murder suspect after Kingsport shooting

A statement issued by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Lucas Peterson was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at a home on Gray Station Road.

Warrants have been obtained by Sullivan County investigators in relation to a shooting in Kingsport that the agency said occurred on Monday.

Lucas ‘Lulu’ Peterson, 29, is charged with attempted second degree murder and aggravated assault in connection to the incident at a home in the 2800 block of Pennsylvania Road in Kingsport.

The investigation began when a gunshot victim with serious injuries was brought to Holston Valley Medical Center Monday evening.

Peterson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Any sightings of the suspect can be reported to law enforcement at (423) 279-9500.
