Tennessee House Passes Sunday Wine Sales
A bill to allow wine sales in grocery stores on Sundays has passed in the Tennessee House of Represenatives. Wine sales are currently prohibited on Sundays and all major holidays. The bill will also allow liquor stores to operate seven days a week immediately, while delaying wine sales on Sundays in grocery stores until January first. Wine sales would still be prohibited on Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. The measure passed by a vote of 55-35 and now goes to the state senate Wednesday.
