Bristol Compressors Job Fair Update: Companies Being Finalized for Participation in the Event

With the announcement of the closing of Bristol Compressors over two weeks ago, plans to give the employees that are losing their jobs a chance to find new work are being set into stone.

A job fair for former employees was announced earlier this week by the Washington County VA’s Office of County Administrator. This job fair will take place Friday from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.

Business Services Coordinator of the New River Mount Rogers Workforce Board Kimber Simmons spoke on the progress of the companies that are participating in the event and how details are being finalized.

“There is a possibility that we may have a couple more, but we’ve closed off registration for new companies calling us. There were a couple that showed an interest earlier that we don’t have registration information for so I am holding a few spaces for those, but I have 43 companies that have completed registration.”

Some of the companies that will be at the job fair include ACT, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Electro-Mechanical Corporation, Food City, Strongwell, and more. Here is a complete list of companies that will be at the job fair Friday:
