Lee County Federal Prison Inmate Dies In Altercation With Other Inmate

Prison officials in Lee County, Virginia say one inmate is dead after a fight with another prisoner. The incident occurred at the United States Penitentiary in Lee County when two inmates got into an altercation and when they were separated staff began life saving efforts on one of the inmates. The injured inmate, whose name was not released was transported to a local southwest Virginia hospital where he later died. The other inmate was treated for minor injuries. The FBI is investigating the incident as a homicide.
