State Police investigating after Chilhowie officer exposed to substance in town offices

The offices of the town of Chilhowie, Virginia and its sheriff’s department are now the focus of a Virginia State Police investigation after officials said an incident occurred Thursday involving a substance that was seized during an arrest.

The statement said that a town police officer was exposed during the incident and was hospitalized. Town Hall was closed as a precaution and to allow state crews to come in and analyze the substance.
