Tennessee’s unemployment rate near record levels for December

Tennessee’s jobless rate continues to trend toward record low levels.

A recent report issued by the Department of Labor and Workforce says December 2019’s unemployment figure was 3.3 percent for the second consecutive month—matching the 2018 mark. The report said 2,000 new jobs were created last month and most of those were in the manufacturing, trade transportation, and hospitality sectors.
