Five Location Colleges To Receive More Than 3 Million Dollars As Part Of C.A.R.E. Act
Five southwest Virginia colleges will receive their share of more than 156 million dollars in funding to support Virginia students as part of the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act. Southwest Virginia Community College, Virginia Highlands Community College, Mountain Empire Community College, Emory and Henry and the University of Virginia’s College at Wise will receive a combined total of three and a quarter million dollars to support students during this unprecedented time. Some of the money will be used to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
