Masks Mandate Goes Into Effect In All Washington County Tennessee Government Buildings
Washington County Tennessee Mayor Joe Grandy is mandating that masks be worn inside all government buildings within the county. Last week, Tennessee Govenor Bill Lee gave mayors in 89 Tennessee counties the authority to issue a mask mandate if needed. With an uptick in positive cases in our region and some of those cases include government employees in neighboring counties, Mayor Grandy made the decision to mandate masks after consultation with Johnson City City Manager Pete Peterson. And while, the mandate only requires a mask in government buildings, Grandy encourages citizens to wear a mask in spaces where they cannot adequately follow CDC Guidelines for social distancing.
