Injuries reported in Highway 70 crash in Hawkins County

Two people were injured after a crash on Hwy 70 North in Hawkins County. The crash happened at 2:37 p.m. Thursday. The Hawkins County Rescue Squad said that its crew responded to the Hwy 70 crash with “heavy entrapment.” The THP report said a Cadillac was traveling north on Hwy 70 N when it crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Jeep Cherokee. Both drivers were injured in the crash, according to THP. Charges are pending against the driver of the Cadillac.
