Bays Mountain improvements to create water outage at park

A water tank improvement project on Bays Mountain in Kingsport will result in a months-long temporary water outage at Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium starting this week. Portable toilets and handwashing stations will be placed throughout the park for guests to use as work is completed. The project is scheduled to begin Thursday and last through early December, weather permitting. Bays Mountain Park will have no operating water fountains or restrooms during this time. Guests are encouraged to bring their own drinking water. Vending machines with water and other drinks will still be accessible in the park’s Nature Center.
