Virginia assault weapons bill heads to Governors desk
Virginia is another step closer to enacting an assault weapons ban that could go into effect later this year. The Senate has sent a bill to Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s desk that would make it illegal to sell, purchase, import, manufacture or transfer assault weapons in Virginia starting on July 1, with some exceptions. The bill would also make it illegal to sell, transfer or purchase a high-capacity magazine capable of holding more than 15 rounds also starting on July 1.
