Greeneville woman sent to prison for three years for requesting and paying for monkey torture videos

A Greeneville woman admitted in federal court in November to using encrypted messages to request and pay for monkey torture videos from Indonesia and what methods of abuse to use on the animals.
A federal judge sent Katrina Favret to prison for 3 years for her involvement in a network that a BBC documentary said reaches hundreds of customers around the world. Favret is one of 25 individuals identified publicly as charged in the case.
The ring leader of the animal crush video network, identified by the US Department of Justice as 51-year-old Michael Macartney of Cheaspeake, is in prison serving the second year of his 3 year sentence.
